Parker-Pope (2015) mentions in her article “Writing Your Way to
Happiness” that writing down thoughts and problems improves physical and mental
health. It can change people's perception of life positively which makes them
happier. Parker-Pope quotes a study performed on 40 Duke University freshmen
illustrated that those who engage in expressive writing achieve better results
and are less likely to quit college. Also, expressive writing allows people to
identify obstacles and tackle them. The author cites a story of Siri who discovered
the actual cause of her failure in achieving her fitness goal.

Hello Hazwani,
ReplyDeleteWe feel that your summary lacks in the following:
- The main thesis of the author is not clearly defined. What is expressive writing? How do we do it?
Also, some sentences seemed like it could be summarised further. For example, "Expressive writing can change one’s perception of life positively which will make them happier." could be "Expressive writing can change one's perception of life positively which makes them happier."
Other that that, good job and well done for keeping within the word limit :)
